The school does a lot of co-operation with companies in our region and the students can take part in different domestic and international projects. Valkeakoski Vocational Institute has about 800 students. It is a medium-sized vocational school in Finland. It provides vocational qualifications in 15 educational fields.
Our institute and its staff is committed to support and develop our students’ professional and social development into adulthood and working life.
The scope of the study programme is three years, 120 credits and it provides eligibility for higher education. 120 credits include 20 credits common studies, 90 credit vocational studies and 10 credits free-choice studies. All study programmes include at least 20 credits on-the-job training.
Student can choose study modules from another form of education. He/ She has the right to get credits for previous studies and for those completed elsewhere. This gives the student possibility to achieve initial vocational education and matriculation at the same time.
